RoboVigil Applications

Monitoring for Every Machine on Your Shop Floor

RoboVigil works with any OPC-UA compliant industrial equipment — robots, CNC machines, injection moulding machines, packaging lines, laser cutters, welding cells, conveyors, and PLCs from any manufacturer. One app. One dashboard. Every machine.

Software-only. Nothing on-prem. £150 per machine per month.

🤖 Industrial Robots

ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Kawasaki, Yaskawa, Universal Robots, Mitsubishi, Omron — RoboVigil reads live data from any robot with OPC-UA connectivity.

✔️ Joint positions, speeds, and torque values

✔️ Program execution state — running, paused, faulted, waiting

✔️ Cycle counts and cycle time tracking per program

✔️ Safety system status and emergency stop events

✔️ Fault codes with automatic camera snapshot on alert

Whether it’s a six-axis arc welding cell, a cobot tending a CNC machine, or a palletising robot at the end of a packaging line — RoboVigil monitors the robot and the job it’s doing.

🔩 CNC Machines and Machining Centres

Haas, Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Doosan, Hurco, Siemens SINUMERIK, FANUC, Heidenhain — any CNC controller exposing data via OPC-UA or the Umati (universal machine tool interface) companion specification.

✔️ Spindle speed, load, and temperature

✔️ Tool life counters and tool change events

✔️ Program state — in-cycle, idle, tool change, alarm

✔️ Part counts and cycle time per job

✔️ Feed rate overrides and axis positions

For shops running lights-out machining or unattended weekend shifts, RoboVigil alerts the on-call engineer when a spindle alarm fires or a tool life counter expires — with a camera snapshot showing the machine state at the moment of the fault.

🧪 Injection Moulding

Engel, Arburg, KraussMaffei, Sumitomo Demag, Negri Bossi — injection moulding machines with OPC-UA support, including those using the EUROMAP 77 (OPC-UA for plastics and rubber machinery) interface.

✔️ Shot counts and cycle times

✔️ Barrel and mould temperatures

✔️ Injection pressures and clamping forces

✔️ Machine states — producing, mould change, alarm, idle

✔️ Reject detection and scrap rate tracking

Moulding shops often run machines 24/7 with minimal night supervision. A temperature drift or hydraulic fault at 3 AM means scrap parts piling up until the morning shift arrives. RoboVigil catches it immediately.

📦 Packaging Lines

Krones, Sidel, Syntegon (Bosch), MULTIVAC, Tetra Pak, IMA — and any packaging machinery using the PackML (OPC 30050) standard for consistent state reporting across multi-stage lines.

✔️ Line speed, fill counts, and throughput rates

✔️ PackML state machine — execute, held, suspended, aborted, stopped

✔️ Reject counts and waste tracking per station

✔️ Changeover timing and downtime classification

✔️ Camera feeds at infeed, labelling, case packing, and palletising stations – wherever you put them.

On a multi-stage packaging line, knowing that something stopped isn’t enough — you need to know which machine stopped first and what state every other machine was in when it happened. RoboVigil shows you.

⚡ Welding Cells

FANUC Arc Mate, ABB IRB, KUKA KR, Fronius, Lincoln Electric — robotic and automated welding systems exposing weld parameters via OPC-UA.

✔️ Arc current, voltage, and wire feed speed

✔️ Weld seam counts and cycle completion

✔️ Gas flow rates and shielding status

✔️ Robot program state and fault history

✔️ Camera verification of weld quality and part positioning

A missed weld fault on an aerospace bracket or structural component is an expensive problem. Camera snapshots linked to fault alerts let you see the part and the weld, not just the error code.

🔬 Laser Cutting and Processing

Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, PRIMA Power — laser cutting, marking, and processing systems with OPC-UA interfaces.

✔️ Laser power, cutting speed, and gas pressure

✔️ Sheet processing counts and nesting programme state

✔️ Head collision and focus errors

✔️ Material handling robot states (loading/unloading)

✔️ Assist gas consumption and maintenance counters

🏗️ Conveyors, Palletisers, and Material Handling

Conveyor systems, sortation lines, automated guided vehicles, palletising and depalletising cells — any material handling equipment with PLC-based OPC-UA connectivity from Siemens, Beckhoff, Omron, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi.

✔️ Conveyor states, motor loads, and belt speeds

✔️ Fault conditions on divert and sortation systems

✔️ Accumulation zone status and throughput counts

✔️ Palletiser cycle times, layer counts, and pattern state

✔️ Camera coverage at transfer points and loading bays

⚙️ PLCs and Controllers — Any Manufacturer

RoboVigil doesn’t care who made your PLC. If it exposes OPC-UA, RoboVigil reads it.

✔️ Siemens — S7-1500, S7-1200 with OPC-UA server enabled

✔️ Beckhoff — TwinCAT 3 with built-in OPC-UA

✔️ Omron — NX/NJ series with Sysmac OPC-UA

✔️ Mitsubishi — iQ-R series with OPC-UA module

✔️ Allen-Bradley — ControlLogix/CompactLogix via Rockwell’s OPC-UA gateway

✔️ B&R — Automation Runtime with native OPC-UA

✔️ Codesys — any Codesys-based controller with OPC-UA runtime

Any custom machine, special-purpose build, or bespoke automation cell with a PLC running OPC-UA is a RoboVigil machine.

🔌 Older Machines Without OPC-UA

Machines running Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or proprietary protocols can be connected through inexpensive off-the-shelf protocol bridges — Weidmüller IPCs, HMS Anybus gateways, or similar converters that translate legacy protocols into OPC-UA.

No rewiring. No reprogramming. No on-site server. A ten-year-old Mitsubishi PLC sits alongside a brand-new ABB Robot in the same dashboard.

🔧 For Integrators and Machine Builders

RoboVigil is designed for the people who build and install these machines, not just the people who run them.

✔️ Monitor your entire installed base across every customer site from one dashboard

✔️ Fault alerts with camera snapshots — diagnose remotely, reduce site visits

✔️ Role-based access so your customers see their machines, you see everything

✔️ Offer monitoring as a post-commissioning service — recurring revenue from every install

✔️ Retrofit to existing installations, not just new builds
